Fillip Studios is een internationaal opererende ontwerpstudio die gelooft in ‘Impact through Wonder’. Als interdisciplinair team van kunstenaars, designers en engineers ontwerpen we betekenisvolle ervaringen die de grenzen van kunst en

technologie verleggen. Ons werk, variërend van museale exposities tot interactieve merkervaringen, is wereldwijd te zien en streeft er altijd naar een positieve bijdrage te leveren aan de maatschappij door mensen te inspireren en te verbinden.

De Rol: Wat ga je doen als Junior Conceptontwerper?

Jij wordt het inhoudelijke en narratieve geweten van onze projecten. Onder begeleiding van onze Designteam Lead ben jij de drijvende kracht in de cruciale eerste fase van ons creatieve proces.

• Jij legt de conceptuele fundering. Je duikt diep in complexe onderwerpen – van wetenschappelijke data tot een strategische merkvisie. Je analyseert, destilleert en ontrafelt de ‘waarom’ achter elk project, en vertaalt dit naar een helder, inhoudelijk fundament.
• Jij bouwt de eerste brug van abstract naar tastbaar. Je maakt de cruciale vertaalslag van een kernachtig idee naar een eerste, overtuigend vormvoorstel. Met schetsen, diagrammen, moodboards en modellen maak jij het verhaal invoelbaar en inspireer je de rest van het designteam.
• Jij bent de inhoudelijke sparringpartner en inspirator. Je werkt in een creatief tandem met je collega-ontwerpers en bewaakt de conceptuele rode draad. Je levert de inhoudelijke input voor projectteksten en zorgt dat de essentie van ons werk altijd helder wordt overgebracht.

Wie ben jij?

Bovenal ben je een conceptuele denker die het unieke vermogen heeft om complexe materie tot de kern te destilleren en dit te vertalen naar een inspirerend vormvoorstel.

• Je bent geïnspireerd & nieuwsgierig: Je hebt een open, leergierige houding, stelt diepgaande vragen en bent intrinsiek gemotiveerd om nieuwe werelden te doorgronden.
• Je bent moedig: Je durft onconventionele paden te bewandelen en kritische vragen te stellen die de kern van een vraagstuk raken.
• Je bent aandachtig: Je kunt je focussen, luistert goed naar briefings en hebt een scherp oog voor detail in zowel onderzoek als de eerste vormvertaling.
• Je bent een teamspeler: Je staat open voor feedback, deelt proactief kennis en gelooft dat de beste ideeën ontstaan in dialoog.

Daarnaast heb je:

• Een relevante afgeronde hbo- of wo-opleiding (bijv. Design, Architectuur, Filosofie, Art & Science). Talentvolle starters worden nadrukkelijk uitgenodigd te reageren.
• Aantoonbare ervaring met (design) research en analyse.
• Uitstekende communicatieve vaardigheden (NL/EN) om je ideeën helder te presenteren.
• Goede visuele vaardigheden om je concepten te communiceren (schetsen, Adobe CS, Figma etc. is een pré).

• Een salaris conform de richtlijnen van de Beroepsorganisatie Nederlandse Ontwerpers (BNO), ingeschaald in Salarisschaal 3 (Specialist) met een bandbreedte tussen €2.500 en €3.500 bruto per maand (o.b.v. 40 uur), afhankelijk van je ervaring.
• Goede secundaire arbeidsvoorwaarden, inclusief een pensioenregeling.

The Role: What will you be doing as a junior Concept Designer?

You will become the substantive and narrative conscience of our projects. Under the guidance of our Design Team Lead, you will be the driving force in the crucial first phase of our creative process.

• You will lay the conceptual foundation. You dive deep into complex subjects – from scientific data to a strategic brand vision. You analyze, distill, and unravel the 'why' behind each project, translating it into a clear, substantive foundation.
• You will build the first bridge from abstract to tangible. You make the crucial translation from a core idea to a first, convincing design proposal. With sketches, diagrams, moodboards, and models, you make the story tangible and inspire the rest of the design team.
• You will be the substantive sparring partner and inspirator. You work in a creative tandem with your fellow designers and guard the conceptual common thread. You provide the substantive input for project texts and ensure the essence of our work is always clearly communicated.

Who are you?

Above all, you are a conceptual thinker with the unique ability to distill complex matter to its core and translate this into an inspiring design proposal.

• You are inspired & curious: You have an open, inquisitive attitude, ask profound questions, and are intrinsically motivated to explore new worlds.
• You are brave: You dare to walk unconventional paths and ask critical questions that touch the core of an issue.
• You are attentive: You can focus, listen carefully to briefings, and have a keen eye for detail in both research and the initial design translation.
• You are a team player: You are open to feedback, proactively share knowledge, and believe that the best ideas arise from dialogue.

Furthermore, you have:

• A relevant completed HBO or university degree (e.g., Design, Architecture, Philosophy, Art & Science). Talented graduates are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Demonstrable experience with (design) research and analysis.
• Excellent communication skills (NL/EN) to present your ideas clearly.
• Good visual skills to communicate your concepts (sketching, Adobe CS, Figma, etc., is a plus).
