Webinar: Towards Human-AI Symbiosis

18.09.2026

06.00 - 07.00

Human–Machine Co-Creativity in the Age of Generative AI

What if AI didn’t just do what you ask, but sensed what you need?

Generative AI is changing how we design, create, and interact with technology. But the next step goes beyond prompts and outputs — it's about systems that understand and respond to human signals.

In this webinar, Dr. Pan Wang shares her research on Human–AI Symbiosis: an emerging field at the intersection of Human–Computer Interaction (HCI), Artificial Intelligence, Brain–Computer Interfaces (BCI), and design. She shows how human cognitive and physiological signals can be integrated into generative AI systems — moving towards a more natural, adaptive collaboration between humans and machines.

A unique opportunity to explore how the line between human and technology is gradually blurring, and what that means for the future of creative work.

More about Dr. Pan Wang

Pan Wang is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering (IDE) at TU Delft. Her research is focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI) for design, especially Human-AI symbiosis. It addresses the intersection of human-computer interaction, brain-computer interface (BCI), creativity, AI design method and human-robot interaction. By investigating the relationship between human and machine, she developed a human-in-the-loop AI method, which is called symbiotic creativity. This is an interactive system that can communicate with humans throughout the creation process and is facilitated by a range of human-AI interaction tools. Pan received her PhD from the Dyson School of Design Engineering and Data Science Institute from Imperial College London.
