Een goede intuïtie is niet altijd genoeg als je duurzame keuzes wilt maken. Wat begeleiding bij het ontwerpen van meubels en interieurs kan dan helpen. Daarom presenteert Rick Porcelijn zijn nieuwe Quick Start Guide Circulair Meubilair en deelt hij zijn ervaringen.

Rick is duidelijk: “Weg met fast furniture!” Met zijn designbureau 16 Mammals ontwerpt hij onder andere voor Albert Heijn en de Bijenkorf. Door slimme duurzame keuzes te maken, weet hij de prijs te verlagen – voor zowel de klant als de planeet.

Textielhub Groningen

Fast fashion heeft z’n houdbaarheidsdatum inmiddels wel bereikt — daar is weinig twijfel over. Maar hoe zit het met lokale textielalternatieven? Zijn we nog vooral bezig met bewustwording en creatieve daden van verzet, of ontstaan er al nieuwe, levensvatbare bedrijfsmodellen?

Die vragen staan centraal in de Textielhub Groningen, een samenwerking tussen onderwijs, overheid en bedrijfsleven. De hub is opgericht met als doel een eerlijke, lokale textielketen op te bouwen in Groningen — van reststroom tot nieuw product.

De bijeenkomst wordt georganiseerd door BNO Noord in samenwerking met Academie Minerva en vindt plaats bij de Textielhub Groningen, met uitzicht op de Bouw Hub – een duurzame broedplaats voor inspiratie.

BNO Noord - Can we scale it down?

On 22 May, BNO Noord is hosting an evening around the theme: Can we scale it down? Sustainable doubts in fashion and furniture.

Designer Rick Porcelijn will explain how circular furniture design can make a real impact. The Circular Textile Hub will also share how they’re working to build a fair, local textile chain in Groningen.

The evening is all about creative and circular thinking, speculative entrepreneurship, and — most of all — just getting started. It’s a practical invitation to explore circular models and materials with awareness and intent.
